Scoppechio lead distinctive design for new craft beer packaging and point-of-purchase display.
Under the leadership of Chief Creative Officer Steve Leder, Scoppechio has rolled out best-in-class design work for Fifty West Brewing Company’s new can launch which is slated to hit shelves in the Greater Cincinnati area on Jan. 30. Leder, based in the Scoppechio Cincinnati office, oversees all branding and design initiatives, as part of Scoppechio’s omnichannel offerings.
The launch of Fifty West’s new lineup of beers comes with much anticipation from retailers like Kroger who have been waiting five years to offer this brand of craft beer in their stores. “I look forward to seeing their beautifully designed cans and quality craft beer in our Kroger beer aisles,” said Denton Davis, adult beverage/DSD category manager for Kroger. “I’m sure most people will agree, the wait was worth it.”
The can design developed by Scoppechio for the Coast to Coast IPA, American Lager and Doom Pedal White Ale were created to be individually distinct but tell an overarching cohesive brand story. The core elements of the design start with the illustration that stretches across the top of each can and traces route 50 from coast to coast, giving a nod to some of the most noteworthy landmarks along the path. Each can is also marked by its own distinct icon that ties into the unique story behind the beer. Finally, the use of bright, eye-catching colors combined with a fresh white creates a memorable shelf presence.
“We were big fans of Fifty West before this project, and were thrilled to partner with them on this next chapter of moving into retail. They have done a tremendous job building a strong, cohesive brand story, so it was important for the packaging to convey this essence. We love where we landed with the design and can’t wait to see it fly off the shelves,” Leder said.
